The Cubs had a fantastic time sleeping over at the Tyrell Museum in Drumheller in February. Not only did they get to sleep under the shadow of dinosaurs, they also got to cast fossils, learn about meteorites and pass around dinosaur fossils. At the end of the night, each Cub and leader got to take their turn handling a giant Boa! It was a great ending to a grea
t night.

Calgary, March 23 2012, the Calgary Tactical Police unit surprised the Tuscany Cubs, Scouts and Venturers with an in depth demonstration of their trade. Constable Roy explained what it means to be in this elite unit with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. His team was able to show up with the Armored Rescue Vehicle, and the bomb truck. The kids got to see the vehicles inside and got an amazing demonstration of the various robots used by the unit. Scouter Rene commented that this was by far the best event involving city officials in his ten year leader experience. A big thank you to constable Roy and his team for this unforgettable experience!

Our first ever Nerf Night for the Scout and Venturer sections was definitely a lot of fun. After some target practice trying to shoot objects on a table and creating cardboard shields it was time to split in to two groups. The curtain divider in the Tuscany Club gym was closed and both teams got some time to prepare their defences. Once the lights went out and the curtain opened the teams battled for their honour! After the event was over the only thing we heard was "We have to got to do that again!!!" with a big grin on their faces. Sorting all bullets turned out to be quite a bit of work. It is safe to assume that this was the first night of a new yearly tradition!

On Saturday April 21, 2012 the 243 Tuscany Scouts will have their bi-annual bottle drive. This is an important fund raiser for the group and the proceeds will be used to offer a quality program to the youth of the Tuscany community. Please help us by placing marked bags in front of your home. Thank you for your donations!

Thanks to the Tuscany Community residents in Calgary for donating their empty bottles and cans. Because of your generosity, the Tuscany Scouts group is able to offer the boys and girls in our community an amazing youth program. Keep those empty bottles and cans earmarked for us as we will be back to knock on your door in the fall :-)
