This is Will’s second year as a leader. Last year he was both a Beaver leader and a Cub Leader. He has officially moved up to cubs and is their Section head this year. Will started in scouting as a Beaver and went up to Venturers as a youth. As a Scout he earned his Chief Scout Award. Will has completed his Woodbadge I and enhanced training for both sections. He has been awarded a certificate of commendation. Will is a Respiratory Therapist at the Foothills Medical Centre. In his spare time he enjoys many outdoor activities such as canoeing, camping, cycling, skiing, snowshoeing.

 

Sarah - Raksha

Sarah was a youth member with Girl Guides, starting as a Brownie and working her way through all levels of the program. As a Pathfinder and Ranger, Sarah completed all three levels and received the Gold level Duke of Edinburgh's Award of Canada. She then went on as first a Sparks leader, then a Guide and Pathfinder leader. She acted as the Area Camp Advisor for Girl Guides in BC until the birth of her first child and a relocation overseas.

Upon returning to Canada, and with her three boys active in Scouting, it only seemed natural for Sarah to sign on as a leader. This will be Sarah's third year with the Tuscany Cubs. Sarah is the Ultrasound Manager with a private medical imaging clinic in Calgary. Sarah is an avid reader and loves spending time with her family camping and travelling.

  

Stephen Skarstol - Hathi

This is Stephen’s six year as a leader. He started as a Beaver leader and this will be his third year as a Cub Leader. He has completed his Woodbadge I training in Beavers and Cubs and has earned  a Warrant of Appointment recognition award and a Medal of Good Service award in Scouting. As a child Stephen was involved in both Cubs and Scouts and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Stephen enjoys camping and riding his motorcycle and is currently employed as environmental engineer in the OIl and Gas Industry. 

 

Trevor Sedgwick  - Phao

This is Trevor’s third year as a Cub Leader in Tuscany and 5th year as a Leader. Trevor started as a Beaver Leader in Bragg Creek/Springbank then joined Tuscany in Cubs. He has completed his Woodbadge I training in Beavers and Cubs. Trevor has been earned a Warrant of Appointment recognition award and a Certificate of Commendation award in Scouting. 

 

 

Tamara Hughes - Kaa

This is Tamara’s first year as a Cub Leader and third year as a beaver leader.  Tamara was a brownie, girl guide and pathfinder as a youth and earned her All-Round Cord.  Tamara has completed Woodbadge I, Standard First Aid, and enhanced programing training.  She was awarded a Certificate of Commendation.

Tamara has a M.Sc. in Physics.  In her spare time Tamara enjoys hiking & geocaching, and baking cupcakes that put certain local bakeries to shame.

 

 

Krista Oliphant  - Chil

Krista is a new cub leader and is new to the Scouting organization. Krista grew up in South Africa and the UK. She was a Girl Guide, Young Leader and received the Queens Guide Award.  She also has her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. 

Krista is a stay at home mom.  She loves the natural world and growing and cooking her own food.  She also enjoys many craft activities and DIY.  Her favourite sport is badminton.

 

 

Jay Monsell  - Mang

Jay has joined as a new leader for the 2014/2015 scouting year, and has completed his Woodbadge I training for the Cubs section. As a youth, Jay was a member of Beavers and Cubs and grew up spending much of his free time outdoors.  He is looking forward to sharing his passion for the great outdoors in his new role as a leader! 

Since relocating to Calgary from Vancouver Island in 2008, Jay has been working as a Supply Chain Professional in the Oil and Gas industry. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping and snowshoeing.  Don’t be surprised if you see him wearing shorts year round!

 

Christine Auriemma - Rikki-Tikki-Tavi

This is Christine's first year volunteering with Scouts Canada, although she was a Brownie/Girl Guide way back in the "olden days". Christine has two kids, Lucas and Jackson, who are both in Cub Scouts this year. Currently Christine is a stay-at-home mom and her interests include camping, bicycling, hiking, cross-country skiing and reading.

 

 

 

Aaron Prosser - Baloo

Aaron is a first year Rover who will be helping with the Cubs for the first time this year. He is excited to work with the Cubs and looks forward to participating in their activities. Aaron started in Scouting as a Beaver and has progressed through all the sections of the program. He has received a certificate of commendation for his efforts at Canadian Jamboree.

Aaron has graduated from high school and is currently taking a gap year. He is a lifeguard and swimming instructor and he is planning on attending university next year.
